The Blue Bin
The
recycling Bin out on the walk
Could tell many stories if it could talk
About how recycling is as good as it gets
But only if we do it and nobody forgets.
Plastics and glass end up in one place
All lined up like runners in a race.
Soon our old trash will become something brand new
But the little recycling bin will always be blue.
- Eric Nichols
A Milk Carton’s Will
I’m your basic
milk carton,
Who’s always on the lookout.
Usually I’m tossed away
Liked unwanted stale food.
But you humans better recycle me because
I don’t belong in the Himalayas of landfill.
I belong in the recycling
factory,
Where I am shredded like paper.
I then become thousands of strings,
Ready to be shipped to another plant.
Even though I endure lots of pain, even dying;
I will always sacrifice my life for the only Earth.
- Helen Tu
Recycling poem
Recycling is as easy as pie
The trash is a mountain and reaching the sky
Cutting down garbage and saving the land,
Isn’t recycling just so grand!
It’s not an old car,
It’s really a star.
I’m working hard, just like a bee,
You could save the world too, just come and
help me!
- Allyson Sablone
Trash Lives
Trash lives in landfills
And all the space it fills!
The worst thing is trash
It can even waste your cash.
Trash towers like mountains,
Pollution spills out like fountains.
If you don’t recycle your garbage away,
Your house will smell bad every day.
- Ilya Degtev
/Please/
Please recycle cans and glass
If you want to save our grass.
Recycle plastics and old bottles
If you want to make good models.
We need to set a good example
‘Cause our planet isn’t a free sample.
If we put our heads together
Our Earth will be clean forever and
ever.
